This is patently false. Your average middle class kid is spending upwards of 6-7 hours on a screen most days. A couple hours, maybe even 3, of down time is fine after school. But that still leaves time for homework. Plenty of time, actually. If it's a quality assignment (or even busy work) then it's superior to the mind numbing innanity they're watching on You Tube. Besides, the decline by 9 in reading is a real phenomena. Teachers and parents should demand every day that kids read something. Thoughts?
