The vast majority of teachers in America, if not the world, will teach exactly what they're told. If a school system decides it wants what you describe here, it will have to undergo some major professional development of the sort that I know my school district can't and won't do.

That said, liberal teachers like myself will educate students to be "woke" but my equally tenured but conservative colleagues will do or say only the minimum based on the needs of the curriculum.

You want change like you're suggesting? The fight is with the learning standards. They not only standardize learning itself but dehumanize those in the profession.

The powers that be don't have to do anything more but say "Teach the standards," and behind that all innovation and progress can die.
