Thanks for writing this great article. Happened to me this year where I was hit by a kid in my class, swore at, you name it, my colleagues too, but it is okay according to my admin because he had a diagnosis is autism so... It's okay. Hint: no, it's not okay. There were twenty other kids in our fully inclusive classroom. They were scared of him. No one but the stoutest and kindest of children wanted to play with him. And he even hit them. Even with a diagnosis, why was he kept in our classroom, you ask? Because we needed to fucking document shit for months and months and try everything we were told to try until they'd move him. They did eventually move him at the end of February, thank God. But getting this to happen cost me my reputation and it got me kicked off the team I was on. I'm a pariah at my school, somebody labeled with the dreaded scarlet N (for negativity). I wrote an article about this very thing for Medium last year, inspired by what I was going though. You might like it, I'll share it below.
