Please don't mention this to my roofer who starts today. He's using petroleum based shingles. If he doesn't work, then my leaky roof doesn't get fixed. And if I don't work at it...my leaky roof still doesn't get fixed.

I'm not being entirely facetious. I do see your point. Something new comes along in our ecosystem, introduced by the elites, and it's assumed you must have it or you'll suffer FOMO. I see this all the time in the education field. My colleagues will tell me that they don't think the kids are learning anything on their Chromebooks, but then assign them something to do on their Chromebooks. Because, you know, that's just what you do nowadays. Our thinking certainly is very much enslaved in certain circumstances. I'm not sure all of us walking off the job is the answer, though. We'd be reverting to a very primitive lifestyle then.
