I've long maintained that we have to change the calculus on this issue. The fact is these terrorists are not insane psychopaths. They're aggrieved, pissed off individuals with an axe to grind in most cases. Before they do the act, let's make this the reality they'll have to take into consideration: The spouse or parent living at their residence at the time will be charged with accessory (or more). Automatically charged and brought to court for arraignment. There's no way that something isn't said at home, or weapons kept at home, that the spouse or parent knew nothing about. It's harsh, I know, and maybe even a little unfair in some instances. But so is the death of innocent people for no reason. These terroristic acts are so heinous that extreme legal policies must be adopted to try to force loved ones to talk these shitheads off their ledge. Or they'll pay, too.
