I'm not rich or Republican but I am a white guy so that affords me a little bit of protection. I also have a tenured teaching job protected by a strong union...exactly the sort of thing that white men have been taught to despise (even though it goes against their own best interests). Alas, fear mongering is alive and well and a very profitable industry in America, and it gave birth to Trump.
