I'm Gen X and I heard that too, though I think the message was a lot stronger with Boomers and previous generations. But we didn't have extremism back then like we do now. Parties disagreed, but at the end of the day came together to get things done. Now both sides have drawn hard lines in the sand. There are certain principles that neither side wants to compromise. And that's okay, frankly, because the principles I believe in are on the Left; the principles on the Right are simply a no-go for me. Fear is not a starting point for me. So this fight may have to literally end in a fight some day. We shall see.
