I'm an elementary school teacher. It seems tougher these days than ever before to inspire kids to put their best effort into writing. After all, the decline by nine in reading is a real phenomena, and if you're not reading much at all than writing is going to be even harder to get right. (Unless you can memorize every grammatical rule and apply them on command, most of us learn to write I think through trial and error.) But I agree that errors are errors no matter the source, and human writers need to work hard on their craft and not rely on editors, apps or Google to fix everything for them. Because they won't, and you'll just sound like a schlocky wannabe.
