I'm a special ed teacher and yesterday, for the first time in my eighteen-year career, I got punched (repeatedly) by a student. Include him in the rest of the class? It's an obvious no, right? I mean, he also threw a chair after punching me and narrowly missed another kid's head by about ten inches. The principal didn't even reach out to me. The student was kept out of the room for the day, but with no reentry plan for Monday. So, yeah, let's include everyone. Even the serial offenders who, for a variety of reasons, can't stop serially offending. If you or someone you know has children in a public school, DO NOT let them get placed in an integrated setting. It's a warzone out there.
