If only this education could be brought back. We need critical thinking skills now more than ever. I agree with all this but one minor point: I think instruction in this needs to start way before high school. I think ALL elementary students should be exposed to lessons in recognizing assumptions that go with hypotheses and how to evaluate whether an assumption is problematic or reliable. I've published a children's picture book to address this and am creating videos to try to extend the practice beyond the book.
