I think you're off base here. The novel is not dead, and while I know you believe in digital and not paper books, it could spell disaster for literacy in kids if we didn't have chapter books and other short novels for them to read. Adults may not read books much anymore, but adults are also mentally sick from all the time spent in the digital world. It isn't normal or healthy to purposely carve up one's attention into such tiny fragments. People should be learning to immerse themselves to recapture their minds and imaginations. If you had it your way, there's be no more libraries and books. People are tactile and, like my daughter and I, love the feel of a true novel in our hands.
