I love this article but it didn't end the way I predicted and I'm curious as to why. It's true we have no literal apex wolf to introduce into our environment to keep human behavior in check. However, analogous to the wolf is government regulation, is it not? Laws, with teeth, curb human behavior. No one likes being told what to do, just as I'm sure the elk hate the wolf, but without regulation we know what humans do: consume their resources with reckless abandon. Nothing will change if governments don't band together to impose scientifically informed regulations on industries causing climate change, etc. Thoughts?
