I hated writing it, to be honest. We go to work every day in our classrooms knowing, in the back of our mind, that something isn't quite right. That what we value isn't what we see unfolding before our eyes each day. I don't want to come across like I'm bashing teachers or even administrators, because honestly, the vast majority are working hard on behalf of kids and have the best of intentions in mind. It's just the system. In a future article I'm going to write much more in depth about what schools can do better... and what they should do a lot less of. Thanks for reading!
