I disagree. The vaccines were developed so quickly because the government threw billions at these companies and pushed aside regulations. If they threw billions at their own labs and removed the impediments, they would have had them probably just as fast. And people who go into government work rather than private companies generally are there for a moral reason to do good. Even if it took longer to make something, there is no profit-driven corruption since governments are not profit-driven.

Remember: government is not Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi. Government is all the thousands and thousands of hard-working people who make America happen behind the scenes. And they do it not for the big bucks (which they don't get anyway) but to make a difference in the world.
