Hmm. I think Descartes meant that the fact we can have thoughts means we really exist. Sunlight only exists in our brains. So does the feel of a breeze. (Without the brain, these photons and shifting molecules would contain no visual or tactile reality). But our thoughts are real because we have them. It's the only sure thing we can anchor to in this world.
