Good article. Listen, I'm not really much of a Christian in the sense I'm a church goer, but I think a lot of good, positive messaging comes from the new testament Scripture. That said, Christianity means two things to people depending on whom you talk to: Jesus or the Church. The two have become almost mutually exclusive. To follow the Church and its doctrine is to follow the interpretation of Christ's words based on whoever is in power. But Christians who tend to have a more personal relationship with Jesus and only read the Bible, would be hard-pressed to find much difference between him and the squad. Jesus was a liberal hippie, full stop. But for some reason, most lay people disrespect that side of him, though there doesn't seem to be another side to him from what I can tell. They even invoke his name to defend capitalism, which always cracks me up.

In other words, if we just paid attention to Christ's message (or AOC'S, pretty similar in a lot of ways), then we'd arrive at the same place: a world where caring for others is second nature to all of us and should be front and center in any political, economical, or social decision making.
