Ain't this the truth? I've been written up twice in the last three years at my school. The second time was for speaking truth to power, but the first was a clear case of he said, she said with a parent, and the principal, without even talking to me first, just called me into her office and explained what the parent said about me and told me to sign the letter of counsel.

I have a colleague who told me how she had a difficult student when she taught on zoom who kept abusing her with the f-word. Even the dipshit mom was doing it too, on camera, in front of the other second and third graders in the virtual class. Long story short, the principal defended the parent and child and the union had to step in. After the smoke cleared, the principal came to my friend and apologized for using her as a "human meat shield" so he didn't have to directly confront the parent.

It's ridiculous. And it shows the only thing that matters is keeping butts in chairs and state funding flowing into the school. Can't wait to cash out either.
